If I cut and paste the URL in a new tab or window, Chrome is smart enough to find that I have already authenticated and opens the new page properly. It appears that when you copy the url it brings the url site info with it. And, of course, report back the results of your research so others can benefit from it too. if I put a & before the anchor, then the URL will have the & but not the anchor … it just seems to get lost somehow, no errors no warning.. This is what threw me, because usually redirecting an anchor link in IE6 will only result in the anchor not working, but the page still loads fine.
To beat this I changed the amerpersand to & so the url went from: http://www.whatever.com?id=23&#Anchor To http://www.whatever.com?id=23&#Anchor Worked for me, after hours of pain. example… Loading… redirecting the page above will automatically instantly redirect you to the specified anchorname in "0" seconds. My guess is that these links are relative because a template is being used. Thanks!
