If your video card is outputing analog video then you must use a cable which implements the analog signals. If the system displays a VGA image properly, change your display settings to something supported by the CRT. This includes removing web cameras, USB devices, thumb drives, camera-type memory cards, and other displays. This solution doesn't sound like it makes any sense but it has worked for a number of people. have a peek here

LCD monitors do not flicker like CRTs when using slower refresh rates so you won't have eyestrain problems if you do it. If you have a computer with a built-in display, such as an HP or Compaq All-in-One PC or HP TouchSmart PC, see Screen is Blank after Starting the Computer. Press the Enter key two times. Long analog cables won't prevent the image from being displayed.
